I have been a midwife for twenty years. I have worked in a number of hospitals within a variety of roles. I currently work in a clinical role as a labour ward coordinator.
Other roles I have had include a birth centre coordinator and a clinical site manager for maternity and neonatal services at a London teaching hospital.
In order to keep myself up to date and continue to develop my career in the last year I have completed the Mary Seacole Leadership course part of the NHS leadership academy.
Up until recently I have been the lead for maternity support workers as part of this role I supported one of the team in the development of a competency work book. I have always had an interest in helping to develop support staff by signposting them to training opportunities.
