Dr Frank Schroeder
Dr Frank Schroeder is a consultant for cardio-thoracic anaesthesia and intensive care medicine and he is the current Care Group Lead for the Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTITU) at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. His other main special interests include trans-oesophageal echocardiography and, until 2020, Frank was also a long-standing member of the high-risk obstetric anaesthesia team. He graduated from the Medical School at the University of Hamburg, Germany, and completed most of his training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. He moved to the UK in 2003 and was appointed as a substantive consultant in Anaesthesia and ICM in 2004. Dr Schroeder is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) and the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM); he is a senior examiner for the European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA); as well as an assessor for MBRRACE (Mothers and Babies: Reducing Risk through Confidential Enquiries).
