Dr Umber Agarwal

Umber is currently working as sub-specialist consultant in maternal-fetal medicine since 1st May 2012 at the Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust. His present position has been a transition to his role as a senior member of a team that assists in providing full range of subspecialty maternal and fetal services within maternity care.  Umber has an active involvement in teaching and pursuing special skills in general fetal medicine, fetal echocardiography, obstetric ultrasound and maternal medicine.

In his role as educational supervisor, Umber is the RCOG training programme director for sub speciality training in feto-maternal medicine for North-West Deanery and is currently supervising two trainees. He is also a clinical supervisor for trainees pursuing the ATSM in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. Umber is also a facilitator and role player for emergency skills and drills training for doctors and midwives.

Umber has a substantial personal clinical workload in Fetal Medicine, he is proficient in performing invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including amniocentesis, CVS, amnio-infusion, amnio-reduction, fetal shunts and intrauterine fetal transfusion.
