Dr Therese Hannon

Dr Therese Hannon has been a Consultant in Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine in a tertiary regional Maternity unit for 10 years.  She is currently the Obstetric Intrapartum Clinical Lead, and works extremely closely with midwifery, anaesthetic and neonatal colleagues to provide a team approach to the safety of the families in our care. She has a special interests in assessment of fetal wellbeing, safe escalation of clinical concerns and use of digital systems to improve safety and information sharing. Therese is a Training Programme Director in her region, which means she is part of the team responsible for planning and delivering training to the junior specialty doctors there and assessing their progress.  She passionately believes that providing clear leadership and training to the Consultants of tomorrow will embed the safety culture in Maternity that we so clearly need to drive up safety standards.
