Rachel Hawkley

Rachel is a Midwife at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust; currently a  labour ward co-ordinator and point of contact for the development of their maternity telephone triage service. She has been qualified for 7 years, having trained and worked in Wolverhampton prior to returning home to Cornwall. Rachel has experience as a rotational midwife including; antenatal wards, postnatal wards, bereavement care, delivery suites, community midwifery, stand-alone and alongside birth centres and homebirths. Her current role includes supporting staff and patients and escalating where appropriate to ensure the safe and effective running of their service. As a point of contact for their telephone triage service she has focused on improving the governance to enhance the safety and efficiency, ultimately ensuring women/people and their families receive the right care at the right time and in the right place.
