Shimma Rahman

Shimma is a consultant obstetrician at Saint Mary’s hospital, Manchester. She completed her medical training in the University of Nottingham and her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the North West deanery.  

She is proud to be part of a highly skilled maternal medicine team who care for women with high risk medical conditions. She also has a specialist interest in diabetes in pregnancy. She has been involved in the investigations of high level maternity incidents for many years and is committed to continually improving maternity care for patients and their families.

Shimma’s other responsibilities include being workforce lead for our managed clinical services which have given her the the experience of recruitment, workforce planning and job planning to maintain safe standards of practice; within this role, she has also gained experience as investigator for maintaining high professional standards investigations in the trust.
