Chichester District Foodbank is a charity supporting people on the lowest incomes across Chichester, Midhurst, Petworth and Selsey.
They provide emergency food parcels containing three days’ worth of food for each person in a household, as well as essential items such as toiletries, hygiene products, nappies and pet food where needed.
But theirwork goes beyond food. Their team offers a friendly, listening ear and helps people find practical, longer-term solutions to the challenges they are facing. They connect people with trusted local advice and services around finances, employment, caring, housing and wellbeing.
Through their Beyond Food: Stronger Futures programme, delivered in partnership with local organisations, they create welcoming opportunities for people of all ages to connect, build confidence and develop new skills. These include family sessions during the school holidays featuring healthy snack-making, creative activities and practical support, a weekly walking for wellbeing group and a weekly support group with a shared meal and access to advice on a range of issues.
At the heart of everything they do is a belief in compassion, dignity and connection, helping people through difficult times and making sure they can access the right support to move forward.
