Thank you
Thank you to all of the families who were able to attend the family meeting on Saturday 17 January. Donna Ockenden, Chair of the Review, gave an update on the progress of the Review and provided information on what to expect in the lead up to publication of the report (June 2026). The General Medical Council (GMC) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) provided an update on what they have implemented since the last family meeting. Families spoke about secondary victims, and improving play parks so that they are accessible to all children. Donna is currently in conversation with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) about the period of time that the Family Psychological Support Service (FPSS) will continue to be commissioned for, to ensure that it continues to meet family needs even after the Review publishes.
Listening to your feedback
We recognise that many families are either not able to attend, do not want to attend, or do not feel able to attend the family meetings. We do not want any families to feel as though they are missing out on important information, which is why we are committed to publishing the PowerPoint slides on the website. Nottinghamshire Police (Op Perth) have published their slides on the portal. We will continue to host family meetings every 8 weeks until December 2026.
Community Engagement
On Sunday 18 January, Donna Ockenden attended four church services across the Majority Black Led Churches. It is important to the Review that we engage with all community groups across Nottinghamshire to ensure that all voices are heard and amplified through the Review and we will continue to engage with community groups following publication to ensure that improvements are made at the Trust that reflect the population’s needs.
Family Feedback
Many families have asked the Review team questions about their Family Feedback – what does this mean? When will they receive their feedback? When will the report be published? Family Feedback will be shared with families following the publication of the report (June 2026). We expect to have sent all Family Feedback by the end of September 2026. We will notify families of the publication of the report, and will provide information about how to opt out of receiving family feedback for those families that do not wish to receive this.
Family Meeting – Saturday 21st March 2026
The next family meeting will be taking place on Saturday 21st March. We expect to host these family meetings every 8 weeks, to help keep families updated in the lead up to publication (June 2026). We will continue to hold these meetings until December 2026.
