Ann Chalmers

For the past 20 years Ann has been Chief Executive of Child Bereavement UK, a charity supporting families and educating professionals when a baby or child dies, or when children are bereaved. She has extensive experience of establishing support services for bereaved families and developing and delivering training for healthcare and other professionals, based on families’ needs.

She was privileged to chair the Surrey branch of SANDS for 5 years, and in her role at Child Bereavement UK to have been able to influence policy and practice, ensuring bereaved families have a voice.

Having recently retired from her role at Child Bereavement UK, Ann is now working independently as a bereavement consultant and trainer, and mentoring other charity leaders. She holds accredited diplomas in Psychotherapeutic and Bereavement Counselling.
