Aparna Reddy
Aparna Reddy has been a Consultant in Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine at Buckinghamshire NHS Trust since 2009, following postgraduate training in London, where she became accredited as a Subspecialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine. During her training, she conducted research on syncytiotrophoblast shedding in labour and collaborated with the Dawes-Redman team on sinusoidal rhythms in cCTG. Her other QIP publication were on improving work flow in caesarean section booking and induction of labour.
Aparna has extensive experience in obstetrics, including maternal-fetal medicine and multiple pregnancy care, and she was instrumental in establishing the local fetal medicine service. As Clinical Director for six years, she led the service through reconfiguration, new infrastructure projects, and the challenges posed by COVID-19. Most recently, she joined the trust leadership team as a Patient Safety Investigator, supporting the implementation of PSIRF and fostering a restorative just culture.In addition, Aparna was the Deputy Head of School for Obstetrics and Gynaecology HEETV (May 2024). She has been a key figure in CTG training for 12 years and played a pivotal role in regional ultrasound training and simulation development. In 2018, she was nominated for the RCOG National Trainer of the Year Award for her significant contributions to postgraduate education.
