Catherine Lindsay

Catherine qualified as a midwife in 2007 and has spent the majority of her career working in a labour ward setting. Previous experience includes working as a labour ward coordinator and practice based educator. As practice educator Catherine was involved in service improvements, incident reviews and developing and delivering training and education and ensuring learning was embedded into clinical practice.

Catherine currently works at East Lancashire Hospital Trust on the Central Birth Suite and is part of the Close Observation team, providing care to women with the most complex pregnancies and births. She has also recently been appointed as Fetal Monitoring Specialist Midwife.

Catherine’s career is rooted in championing continuous improvement to secure better outcomes for mothers and babies her main areas of interest are fetal monitoring, early recognition of deterioration and human factors.
