Dr Gemma Crossingham
Gemma Crossingham is a full-time Consultant Obstetric Anaesthetist in Plymouth, Devon. At her Trust, she is the Trust clinical lead for Cultural Improvement/Learning from Excellence and the deputy Service Line Director for Anaesthesia. She has an MSc in Clinical Education, is a Trust human factors trainer and educational supervisor for anaesthetic trainees. She is an elected Executive member of the National Obstetric Anaesthetists Association (OAA) and is a national invited speaker on civility, learning from excellence, safety and human factors. She has also worked with the National Maternal and Neonatal Health Safety Collaborative on cultural measurement, utilisation of safety 2 approaches and appreciative inquiry and learning from excellence. Recently, she has published work on civility within maternity units and sensitive communication with bereaved parents.
