Heidi Ottosen

Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, Heidi has a background in Humanitarian Development and Public Health prior to her midwifery career.

Heidi is a consultant midwife and has practiced in this expert role and wide range of senior clinical midwifery roles in both tertiary and level 2 maternity units.

As a Consultant Midwife, Heidi supports pregnant women/ birthing people requiring complex or personalised care planning alongside supporting clinicians to facilitate safer and flexible approaches enhancing the maternal experience.

Heidi has a particular interest in service user advocacy and experience, public and perinatal mental health and care equity with a drive to reduce health disparity in local communities and influence priorities to improve outcomes for women and families. Having held various leadership roles, Heidi has experience of conducting safety investigations and care reviews across maternity and neonatal services.
