Michelle Wells-Braithwaite

I am a dual-qualified Nurse and Midwife with over two decades of unwavering dedication to enhancing maternity and neonatal care. My educational background includes a Degree in Midwifery from City University London and a Diploma in Adult Nursing from King’s College London. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Quality and Safety in Health Care at the University of Leicester.

In my role as a Clinical Governance Manager for Maternity and Neonates at a South London NHS Trust, I have actively shaped clinical governance policies, promoting person-centred care and leading quality improvement initiatives.

As Quality and Safety Governance Lead, I led a robust agenda for quality and safety governance within the Local Maternity and Neonatal System, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to enhance clinical efficiency and patient safety and experience.

Throughout my career, I have consistently supported healthcare professionals, championed patient safety, organised skill-enhancing educational programs, and successfully driven positive change while advocating for the highest standards of maternity and neonatal care.
