Review Update

Since the Review started in September 2022,1,904 families are now part of the Review. We have now conducted 152 family meetings. The Review team met with 16 families in May’s trip to Nottingham. As always, we are reviewing every aspect of maternity care provided by Nottingham City Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre, but you may have recently seen in the media that the Review team is now looking in depth at antenatal care as part of the Review’s work plan.

Current Review Work Plan

By antenatal care, we mean the care that women receive at various stages during their pregnancy to check that both they and their baby (or babies) are as well as possible. This can include ultrasound scanning; antenatal screening for certain conditions; and antenatal diagnosis. We are now keen to hear from women and families who would like to tell us about the antenatal care they have received at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Anyone who wishes to share their experiences with us is encouraged to do so, by contacting the Review team. You can contact us by telephone, on 01243786993, or via email, [email protected]. Our team is available to speak to between 9am and 5pm; Monday to Friday. Alternatively, you can find more information on the Independent Maternity Review’s website at www.ockendenmaternityreview.org.uk.

Upcoming Family Get Together

We will be holding a family get together on Saturday 15th June at Notts County Football Club, Meadow Lane, NG2 3HJ. The day will be conducted in two parts: A morning session from 10:00-12:00, and an afternoon session from 13:00-15:00. We hope the choice of two sessions allows you to join us at a time that best suits you. On the day, Donna will make a short presentation to update you on the overall progress of the Review so far, and there will be further discussions led by the Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire MPs, Charities, and FPSS. There will be opportunities for you to share your experiences with other families involved in the Review, but please be assured that your attendance does not require you to speak publicly, unless you would like to do so. Please RSVP via email, and if you would like to use the crèche facility please do let us know.
