September 2025 – Update Newsletter
Review Update
Since the Review started in September 2022, 2,426 families have joined the Review. This beginning of September marked three years since the Review began. We recognise that this milestone may have felt difficult for some families in the Review; if you require extra support at any time please contact our office or the Family Psychological Support Service (FPSS). The Review’s website also includes a directory of charities that offer specialised support.
Thank you for attending – Family Meeting 13.09.2025
Thank you to all of the families who attended the family meeting on Saturday 13 September. We were joined by a range of charities and organisations including Masic, Sands United FC Nottingham, Child Bereavement UK, Peeps HIE, Aching Arms, Birth Trauma Association, Zephyr’s, Footprints Baby Loss, Nottingham Muslim Women’s Network, Nottingham Women’s Centre, General Medical Council (GMC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and (FPSS). We hope that the structure to the meeting felt supportive, and provided families with the opportunity to attend the parts of the meeting that suited their needs most.
Community Engagement
Donna met with women at Nottingham Women’s Centre on Tuesday 2 September to listen to their experiences of maternity services at NUH. These meetings are important in ensuring that all voices are heard through the Review, which will help improve services at NUH.
Donna and Anthony (Chief Executive of NUH) were invited to attend two Sunday Church services across the Majority Black Led Churches (MBLC). Donna provided an update on the Review, and introduced Anthony to the congregations to help build a relationship with the local community and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Family Evening – 10th October 2025
Some of the families in the Review have organised an event during Baby Loss Awareness Week that they would like to invite all families who are part of the Review to attend. This event is organised by families for families, and is a safe and supportive space for all families in the Review to meet and share their experiences if they would like to. “Connect with other affected families with shared experiences for an evening of gentle music, food and compassion” – You can find more information and register by searching for this event on eventbrite.
Venue: Springfield Event Hall, Sandiacre, NG10 5BD | Time: 7-10PM
