Dr Michael Magro

Michael is currently a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and the Labour Ward Lead at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. He was one of the clinical reviewers and the co-team leaders for the governance chapter of the Ockenden Review into care at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust. He has an avid interest in patient safety, learning from harm and clinical leadership.

Michael undertook a Darzi Fellowship in clinical leadership, obtaining a PGCert (Darzi) with Distinction in 2016-17. During this year Michael worked at NHS Resolution and focused on maternity safety, specifically helping set up the Early Notification Scheme for brain injured babies and authored the report, published in September 2017; Five Years of Cerebral Palsy Claims
