Dr Sarah Davidson

Sarah is currently working as a neonatal consultant in the Southampton Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Prior to this she completed her training in London working in many of the NICUs and for the London Neonatal Transport Service. She has developed a breadth of experience in providing high-grade holistic care for neonates with medical, surgical, cardiac and other sub-specialist problems from transfer to discharge. She is the Wessex clinical lead for SONET (Southampton and Oxford Neonatal Emergency Transport). She is also the RCPCH College Tutor and has a role in the multidisciplinary education team.

Sarah is a passionate neonatologist who thrives on the emotional and ethical challenges of providing neonatal care.  She is committed to delivering excellent clinical care and keen to review previous events in order to ensure learning occurs. Her experience has taught her the importance of attention to detail, recognising her limitations and listening to all members of the team, especially  parents.  She believes that by providing the best possible start we can have a significant impact on the lives of the children and their families.

She is looking forward to being part of the independent  review team and looking at ways of improving future medical care.
