Vicky Lush
Vicky has a sound understanding of the NHS having worked alongside patients and staff for more than 30 years. She is aware of the challenges staff face within their roles as part of a vast healthcare system undergoing constant change. She is also aware of patient expectations, hopes and fears set against this background.
As a Counsellor and Wellbeing Coach at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Vicky has worked to support both staff and patients. She has co-led the hospital counselling service and continues to be the Counselling Lead for the Wessex Kidney Centre within the hospital. As a Supervisor, Vicky developed a staff supervision service within the Trust. She has also run de-briefing sessions for staff, as well as training sessions on for example, wellbeing and boundary keeping.
Vicky’s counselling roles have included Macmillan Midhurst and Sussex Community NHS Trust.
Before qualifying as a counsellor in 2012, Vicky worked within marketing and communications for the pharmaceutical industry. She also worked in-house on corporate communications within Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. As well as working for local health authorities she has worked with medical charities and patient organisations.
