Dr Svilena Dimitrova

Svilena is a neonatologist from London and has worked in 15 different hospitals during her career. She is currently a Neonatal Consultant at St Thomas’ hospital in London, which is one of UK’s busiest surgical and cardiac Neonatal Intensive Care Units. In addition, Svilena does a once weekly Paediatric/Neonatal on call for her local DGH (Hillingdon Hospital). In addition, she works for the Care Quality Commission as a specialist adviser, which involves regularly inspecting Paediatric and Neonatal services in various settings. She is also the Neonatal lead for the King’s Global Health Partnership project in Zambia, whose aim is to reduce infant mortality there. Her further areas of special interests include risk management, patient safety, quality improvement and teaching at all levels, from undergraduate to MSc students.
