DipHE Midwifery, BSc Professional Practice (Midwifery), PGCert (Practice Education)
I am a Registered Midwife and Teacher. I qualified as a midwife in 2010. Most of my clinical practice has been as a hospital-based midwife, which included providing intrapartum care to both high and low risk women, triage, induction of labour bay and higher dependency midwifery care. I am a sign off mentor, additionally qualified to undertake examination of the newborn (NIPE), provide care of the critically ill woman in childbearing. From 2017-2020 I held the post of practice development midwife which involved planning and facilitating the mandatory training for the midwives and midwifery support workers and the wider multi-disciplinary team (obstetricians, anaesthetists and maternity theatre team) which included managing obstetric emergencies and fetal monitoring training. In January 2021 I took up an inpatient matron post, with responsibility for labour ward, maternity assessment unit, antenatal and postnatal ward, and the antenatal clinic.
